The Invisible Man by Artist Liu Bolin

Artist Liu Bolin was born in 1973 and grew up in China’s Shandong province. Bolin is painstakingly painted head-to-toe by a group of assistants using photographs of the area behind him as a guide without the use of special effects or Photoshop.

His series “The Invisible Man”  is a symbol of humanity, concealed in the growing isolation of the capital. He says, “My intention was not to disappear in the environment but instead to let the environment take possession of me”.

artbo

For the sixth time ArtBo is taking place in Bogotá at Corferias from the 21st-25th of October. ArtBo invites artists from all over the world to showcase contemporary national and international art.

As always, we´re very excited about the Artecamara exhibition which gives young artists the opportunity to showcase their work at this important event. It’s also the first time eggwhite will be able to see the children’s space, which aims to introduce general public to the history of Latin American art through fun and games.

Sao Paulo

Some people say that Sao Paulo is the world’s third biggest city. Some say it’s only the seventh. Either way Sao Paulo is massive.

Unfortunately we only had the time and money to spend four days in this magnificent city which is hardly enough to scratch the surface. Despite this we were able to visit Liberdade (home to the largest Japanese community outside of Japan), spend an afternoon at the amazing Ibirapuera Park whilst marvelling at the works of Brazil’s leading architect Oscar Niemeyer (see photo below), visit the impressive, newly opened football museum underneath Corinthians’ stadium, went to the MASP and eat perhaps eggwhite’s favourite pizza ever.

We don’t want to think how many amazing things we missed in one of the world’s biggest and most culturally important cities. Surely four months wouldn’t be enough…
